Anyone here have issues with the first bill when switching to AT&T?

I ported four lines over and I've had upgrade/activation fees charged in our new account even though the store said business accounts do not get charged this.

Also had $55 device access fees charged for each line that have an installment plan even thought the store said is it would be $30.

The store crammed our account with some BS enhanced voicemail for $65/line. Had no clue what this was as I never asked for it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I think I'll be porting back out and I don't need to have to comb through our monthly bills every month if they want to try and slip fees and services that I never ordered.

Thanks

I know the first bills can always have some funny math, but I would definitely call customer service and have it sorted out for you.

I believe the OP is seeing prorated charges from the day the lines were activated and including the next month's statement charges. Check the billing dates on each feature/service.

For instance, if your bill cycle ends on the 15th of the month and you activate on the 1st of the month, you will have the equivalent of 1 1/2 months of service charged on the first bill. The next month's bill will be back to the original expected monthly expense. Has always been this way with advanced billing and should have been explained in more detail when the OP activated service.

Reach out to CS but let us know.

I understand the prorations. What I wrote was charges for things I didn't ask for (enhanced voicemail feature) or the fact I was told business accounts don't get charged upgrade or activation fees however I was charged them.

I already put in about 1.5hrs on this and only got the enhanced voicemail issue reversed. Ugh.

Oh well. Thanks for the info.

The only billing issue I've had was when I called AT&T to add my new Stainless Steel Apple Watch 3 to my plan, which I thought had a free trial for the first 3 months with no activation fee. Turns out that wasn't the correct offer. The AT&T rep. Not only refunded my activation fee when I called in, but the whole first month as well.
