just a point of reference that is divergent from most people here. we have been on a 6gb plan for $40 for the past couple of years. that serves us well since we use on average about 4gb per month, so if we have a peak month, we typically have 8gb available with rollover. the most we have ever used was 5.2gb for a "big month."

having not read here for a couple of months, i logged into my account yesterday to see that a "plan change was pending." as noted above, this was an automatic change from 6gb to 12gb, but at a cost of $45/mo. of course, that's a great deal if we wanted more data and "only $5" but for us, it's pointless and another chance for AT&T to get another few bucks from us.

thankfully, the rep was able to reverse that doubling during the next cycle and we can keep our current plan.

aside: i also complained about the crazy increase in admin fee from 0.76 to $1.99 over 5 months. he was able to offer me a $20 one time courtesy credit.

Did you call retentions to get this? I'm in a similar place - I don't need the doubled data for $10 more.

In all honesty I don't need 12Gbs either. 6GBs is plenty for me.

Thanks Derek87

BTW, while they don't appear to be advertised on the website, it appears that the modified MSA plans remain available as detailed here:
