Eh, I don't know if it's congestion in my area or what, but my TMobile line performs much better than the metro line. Metro and TMobile are night and day here. Everything buffers on the metro line but even the regular speeds on the metro line are slow. In areas I'm pulling 20+ down with TMobile the metro line right next to it is pulling less than 5. I thought maybe it was the device so I popped the TMobile Sim into the metro phone and nope, pulls 20+ down with the TMobile Sim. So I probably couldn't give a fair assessment of performance with them limiting streaming speeds.

It's Prepaid, if it doesn't work for you just port out.

It's well documented that Metro is lower priority than T-Mobile. I find it to be a night and day difference as well especially during the busy times.

For the price as long as we aren't getting 1mbps I'll be fine.

Maybe on old grandfathered plans but nope, not for new customers since about a month ago. You don't have a data maximizer toggle anymore and you do pay for hd video content. Been this way for over a month now. Metro pcs now charges for hd video content and all plans are capped at 480 video resolution. If you have an old grandfathered in plan that allows hd video streaming at no charge I'd recommend never switching plans and always paying the bill on time.

All current MetroPCS plans include video optimization features that are always enabled, which, when connected to the cellular network, deliver a DVD quality (typically 480p or better) video experience at up to 1.5 Mbps with minimal buffering while streaming ("Data Maximizer"). *Customers may, for an additional charge, add on a native resolution video feature, disabling optimization for their device.*
