Surely, not $29.99.
Those were from the $1 Family Dollar mis-price bonanza. In addition to the SIMs the package comes with 60 minutes and 90 days of service. All for $1.

Those FD kits were bought in big numbers to harvest the airtime, as non-TMFL kits were not even out back then. Even without the bonus airtime, a lot of kits were sold when they became $1 just to hoard. Don't think many thought the $1 price would hold.

I got 23. I'm down to five left to scratch and apply. I'm going on the assumption that they might not be good a year after purchase. I plan to save one to check on the year thing.

SWMBO thought I was nuts and not for the first time. There was a lot of head wagging and eye rolling. For $23 ($35 with taxes) I got 5.7 years of service with 4,140 minutes, texts and MB data. Actually the minutes are more with the 12745 promo code. That's less than $4 a year. Hard to beat that. Ringplus was free, but the service stunk.

Hopefully the SIMs will continue to be valid for years to come for when I need to change phones.
